About Us

In 2008 Turkey launched the 10-Million-Euro Project namely “My Bee, My Honey, My Honeycomb.” Causing honey-making activities to expand since then. The Turkish Beekeepers Unions of 6 provinces, have been supported by the Ordu Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Ordu Chamber of Merchants and Craftsmen Union who are also major shareholders of the project.

The Balmer Company has at least 12,000 beekeeping members. The European Union and the Turkish Republic Ministry of Science and Technology, Honey Research Institute (AAE), have all contributed in helping to establish a modern facility for the research, collection, packaging, and the selling of honey.
Our partner company Balmer wanted to distribute and export a high-quality product that reached customers in the market the best way. In order to fulfil this purpose Tuma Food Industry and Trading Ltd., was established in Istanbul in 1995. In pursuit to become leaders in the food sector and be successful in 2019 Tuma established the Queen Honey brand.
Turkey is the Number 2 honey producer in the world after China.
The Black-Sea province of Ordu alone is responsible for the production of 40% Turkey’s honey and exports it to more than 40 countries.
Other Provinces that also produce honey in Turkey are Hakkari, Sirnak, Van, Mus, Erzurum, Erzincan, Sivas, Agri, Tokat, Amasya, Rize, Kastamonu, Sinop, Mersin, Antalya, and Marmaris.
Balmer Ltd. has a honey processing facility with a size of 3000m2 and has a 9000 ton/per year capacity. The most advanced machines are being used at the Balmer integrated facilities with regards to packaging PLC automation systems are used, these are not prone from human error. Balmer also has 4 labs. at its facility: Instrumental Analysis Lab., Physical and Analytical Chemical Lab., R & D Lab., New Product Analysis and Reporting Lab. Balmer can continuously check and try to develop their products. Some of the kinds of honey that are produced by Balmer are: Blossom Honey, Pine Honey, and Chestnut Honey. Balmer’s Honey comes in the forms: honey with honeycomb, cut honeycomb, uncut honeycomb, Karakovan honey, which are all manufactured and packaged on their premises.

Our Quality Assurance

Our products are free from all kinds of physical bacteria and are packaged in hygienic environment. From the picking of the honey to the final product, each process goes under the strictest controls.
Our workplace, packaging, and our warehouses have all passed ISO 9001 standards. We have also passed ISO 22000 Food Safety regulations.

We Maintain Its Purest State

In order to transfer the honey into bottles, we heat it very little and transfer it into bottles.

We filter! We do not parse

We strain the honey to preserve its pure form. We only take the wax in the straining process.

Test

We test our honey by taking samples for antibiotics, pesticides and herbicides.
